My son got vaccinated and still got pneumonia had to be hospitalized. How do vaccines work.. I rather him never been vaccinated he still talk today if he was not.
Bob Bobber
Bob Bobber Acum 15 ore
Vaccines are a training for the body so it can do its job better when that specific thing (bacteria, viruses) come in the body. (they detect it faster and fight it better) Nothing more, nothing less. If the body get weakened by something (exhaustion, weakened by having fight an other disease, bad nutrition, other health problem), even with a vaccine, the body may have an hard time fighting something as aggressive as pneumonia. Even if Streptococcus pneumoniae (the one the vaccine protect you from) is the most common bacteria that cause pneumonia, this is not the only thing that can cause one. There is other bacteria, fungi and some viruses that can do that too. If you catch one of those, you will not be protected. And even Streptococcus pneumoniae have multiple variations. And no vaccine is at 100% efficient.

One of the other things that I think is really interesting about this show is that you’ll notice whenever the red blood cells are in an artery, their jacket is bright red with a dark red trim, but when they’re in a vein, the jacket is dark red with a bright red trim, an obvious nod to the fact that deoxygenated blood is darker. This show’s attention to detail is amazing!

How many different types of meningitis is there? Cause my brother apparently has a bacterial meningitis in his spinal cord. Idk. Just relaying the message. This may be completely false
Bob Bobber
Bob Bobber Acum 15 ore
Meningitis is the name of the disease. And one disease can be cause by multiple things. Bacteria, viruses, fungus... and even parasites and ameba can cause it.

You should really consider doing the entire series I love anime and a lot of other people do , and I like when I get and understand the anime and tbh without your context and background info I would have missed a lot of the subtle references it made it a lot more enjoyable, just a kind suggestion, keep up to good work:)

I forget what it’s called but reds hair spring this is also a reference to something medical right?
Strife49c Acum o Zi
People theorize that' she's a sickle cell but it's proven untrue because she can circulate, sickle cells cannot; the more proper reason for her hair is a common trope called "Ahoge" or "Idiot Hair" where that little hair spring is seen on idiot characters.

Just a single thing that maybe you got confused: the platelets are suposed to be small, because they are pieces of cells, the planks could be fibrinogen(innactive form). The big cell you're talking about may be the megacariocyte, that breaks. 2nd year brazillian med student here, things still fresh in mind XD.

There is a much older and child appropriate French cartoon like this which probably every child born aft 1985 in France and Germany grew up with: It is called *"Il était une fois… la Vie"* or "Es war einmal .. das Leben" in the German translation (I'm German ;) ). You should definitely watch it! I'd guess Cells at Work is based on that old cartoon?

Hey, question for ya. My mom had her blood taken a few years back, and the nurse had no idea what the hell she was doing, and she was poking my mom al over, for hours. My mom came home with her forearm completely black and blue. Should this person loose their medical license? I’m just wondering how little certification you need for that to happen.
